"leaving for Maui this Sat-RU in Hawaii or FL?
I'd love to be a wench-----guess I already am:)
We had a delightful lady speaker named Dana who produces indies, and she was very encouraging. It was a nice turnout, with roughly 12 members in attendance who had joined within the last year.
In some of the other groups, you may see mention of the only "uncomfortable" part of the evening. Paul Edney stood up and referenced a group of 15 protesters at an LA awards show who claimed that our National Board member Scott Rogers harassed them as he drove up to the event. Paul suggested that Scott be removed from the Board, after which Scott described the incident from his perspective. No official action was taken, and whatever happens, happens.
There were good reports regarding Women's Committee and senior, disabled and minority progress.
The next meeting is Sept. 20, and National President Ken Howard and his wife have been invited.
Basically, just keep your eyes and ears open, and hopefully a lot of this new work will have more-significant local participation. Everyone's optimistic.
Good luck with work!
