  Hey Eric. Truth be told, I had no idea I was part of Kapu, either. My friend in Houston was watching the show and asking me about the mug shot and I had to tell her I didn't know what she was talking about and I'd have to watch the show when it aired here. Hopefully I can get enough work on the productions here to make some extra money to join the unions. Would be nice. Hope to see you on set in the near future.

  For profit "Request For Proposals" (RFP) are 200-plus pages and are legally-binding contracts. Grants are very different. Hawaii Community Foundation manages several different trusts and those guidelines usually require 16 pages or less. No creative writing. Just answer their questions completely. Your cover page can draw them in to the community's need of your vision. What's your competiton? Who is your target population? How are you going to fill a void?
  
  As a new company during these difficult economic times please don't be discouraged if you're not awarded your first time out. It will happen.

  Happy to walk you through the writing process. It's just a formula and easy to learn. However, before you write the grant you need to apply for a non-profit license, do you have one? If so, look at Hawaii Community Foundation and OHA grant writing guidelines. You can get a good idea of what lenders are asking for and funding. Put together an outline based on the questions from the guidelines and fill in the blanks. Happy to help you at any step. It's much easier than you might think. The most import part is the match. Your idea must match someone's need like Cinderella's foot fit that glass slipper. Good luck to you. Sounds like a great idea.
